Does the chiller keep the water clean for longer?Updated 4 hours ago
Yes, the Water Chiller features a built-in filter to keep your IcePod clean and free from bacteria and particles. But for peak cleanliness, we recommend additional steps!
For the best results,
Clean between water changes: Use a gentle, perfume-free soap or a natural antibacterial cleaner to scrub the IcePod interior. A soft brush or cleaning pad works well for removing any scum or residue without damaging the pod.
Control bacteria and odours: You can add a small amount of food-grade hydrogen peroxide (around 3–7%), 30–60 ml of solution per week to the water to reduce bacteria and prevent odours. Always follow safe dilution guidelines and add sparingly.
Maintain pH balance: If needed, a tiny amount of baking soda can help maintain a slightly alkaline environment, which slows bacterial growth.
Quick Maintenance Steps:
Weekly Filter Cleaning: Remove and rinse the filter with lukewarm water every week.
Add food-grade hydrogen peroxide: After cleaning, add 30–60 ml of 3-7% hydrogen peroxide to keep the water fresh.
With this routine, you can change the water and the filter every 30 days, or even longer with regular hydrogen peroxide use.
